Using credit cards at Jasmine City Hotel BANGKOK is dangerous.
In late January 2024, during check-in at Jasmine City Hotel, 2 Sukhumvit Soi 23, Klongtoey, Wattana, a handsome man at the reception copied both sides of my credit card .
It was my first time that I had my card copied checked in hotels and asked why he did it, he said it was to charge for any damages to the room or if I take the bathrobe.
I forgot to ask for the card copy to be returned during check-out.
12 days after returning from Bangkok, on February 4th, I suddenly received an SMS from Mitsui Sumitomo Card.
"Did you make a purchase of 41,300 yen on February 2nd through Marui Internet Service? Although the transaction was declined, do you have any recollection?"
When I clicked "no recollection," the screen changed, saying that my card had been used fraudulently. They stated that they would cancel and discard my card and send a new one with a different card number to the address I registered within 1-2 weeks.
I was shocked as this was the first time my card had been fraudulently used.
Be cautious about using your card at JASMINE CITY HOTEL BANGKOK. Always make sure to either destroy or take back the copied card during check-out.
Since my credit card is linked to various lifelines such as electricity, gas, water, rent, Rakuten Pay, Rakuten Mobile, UQ Mobile, Docomo mobile etc., notifying them about the change of card number will be a hassle.
